The Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) is a joint initiative of the Media Council of Tanzania and its partners: 

Media Institute of Southern Africa-Tanzania Chapter (MISA-Tan), Tanzania Media Women’s Association (TAMWA), Tanzania Sports Writers Association (TASWA), Journalists Environmental Association of Tanzania (JET), Tanzania Editors Forum (TEF), HakiElimu, African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF), The Agricultural Non State Actors Forum  (ANSAF), Business Environment Strengthening in Tanzania – Advocacy Component (BEST-AC),  Association of Journalists Against Aids in Tanzania (AJAAT), Tanzania Science Journalists Association (TASJA), Sikika, Johns Hopkins University,and Media Owners Association of Tanzania (MOAT). The intention of these awards is to recognize and reward outstanding work in journalism in the country.

Eligibility

Tanzanian Journalists reporting for any newspaper, radio or television station are eligible to compete by submitting entries which were published or broadcasted between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013.

Tanzanian journalists whose stories have been published or broadcasted by foreign media may also submit their entries to compete in the awards.

The open category will take care of outstanding journalistic works which may not fit in any of the above categories.


You can submit a maximum of three entries in the three categories. Please fill a form for each entry submitted.  Participation forms are available at the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT) offices, media houses , Press Clubs and also on the website: www.mct.or.tz
