The Media Council of Tanzania has released the full monitoring report that reflects on how the media covered the October 25, 2015 General Election. The Council monitored mainstream print and electronic media and also some international media outlets from September 2015 to February 2016.

The monitoring project  was funded by the Department for International Development of the United Kingdom (DFID). DFID supported the monitoring project in the spirit of ensuring the promotion of even playing field in the elections.

The official launch of the report Watching the Watchdog was held on Friday April 15, 2016 and was attended by editors, representatives of the civil society and media.
